Sabur Khan Elected Treasurer of IAUP for 2027-2030 Term

Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, founder and chairman of Daffodil International University and a renowned technology entrepreneur, has been elected Treasurer of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) for the 2027-2030 term. This marks the first time a Bangladeshi has assumed a leadership role on this prestigious global platform, according to a press release issued on Friday.

The announcement was made during the IAUP General Assembly meeting, held on October 15 at the Beijing Conference Center. Other newly elected members include Dr. Shawn Chen, founder and chairman of Sias International University (China), who will serve as President of IAUP for the same term, and Dr. Tatsuro Tanioka, Vice-Chancellor of Tanioka Gakuen Education Foundation (Japan), who will serve as IAUP Secretary-General.

The conference saw participation from representatives of Bangladeshi universities along with nearly 700 delegates from 53 countries across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Africa.

Outgoing IAUP President Dr. Fernando León-García, President of CETYS University (Mexico), warmly welcomed the newly elected leaders, expressing confidence in their ability to lead IAUP toward greater growth and impact in the global higher education sector.
